Halls River Springs (there are three vents) are the groundwater upwellings that feed the Halls River, a spring-fed tributary of the Homosassa River in Citrus County. Instead of a single basin, the springs appear as multiple vents and clear patches of rising water along the river’s upper course, keeping the shallow channel flowing through wooded wetlands before it joins the Homosassa about a mile downstream of Homosassa Springs. These springs don’t form a large swim basin but are best experienced by paddling the Halls River, which flows through predominantly undeveloped public waters.
