Known as Florida’s only natural warm mineral spring, it maintains a constant 85°F water temperature year-round, enriched with up to 51 minerals, attracting visitors for its purported healing properties. The circular spring, 236 ft across and up to 230 ft deep, features ledges at 45 ft and a debris cone at 148 ft, formed 30,000 years ago by a cavern collapse. Open to the public for swimming from 9 AM to 5 PM daily (except Christmas), it charges fees for non-resident adults and slightly less for residents, with additional spa services available. Access is via a park entrance with parking, picnic areas, and a gift shop, though facilities may be limited post-hurricane. Best visited in cooler months (fall to winter) for comfort, as clarity can be affected by rainfall. While clarity may not be directly affected by water height. Look for clear water when the gage reflects stable conditions at or below 6 feet. With optimal conditions around 4-5 feet.
