Set along the Wacissa River, its main basin, up to 20 feet deep, offers a serene spot for swimming, kayaking, and snorkeling, surrounded by cypress trees and marshes. Accessible via SR 59 to Wacissa Springs County Park (no boat needed, free entry), it’s a short walk or paddle to the springs. There is a swimming area, boat ramp and kayak launch at the park. There's also plenty of vendors offering kayak rentals, airboat tours, etc. Summer weekends draw locals—arrive early for calm. For quiet, visit weekdays in spring (April-May) or fall (September-October), mornings ideal. Water clarity is typically vivid but can cloud with river runoff after rain. Check —stable, low levels below 31 feet ensure clarity, clearest from late fall to early spring during dry periods.
