Located within Blue Springs State Park. Known for its crystal-clear, 72-degree water and a flow of about 100 million gallons per day. Nestled in Blue Spring State Park, its basin, up to 25 feet deep, feeds the river, offering a stunning spot for swimming, snorkeling, and kayaking, surrounded by hardwoods and palms. Summer weekends and manatee season (November-March) pack the park, arrive by 8 AM. For quiet, visit weekdays in spring (April-May) or fall (September-October), mornings ideal. Pets are permitted in the camping area but not in the swimming area. Boat tours are available. Outfitters are available nearby for paddle craft, tube and e-bike rentals. Water clarity is typically vivid but can cloud with St. Johns River backflow after rain. Check stable, low levels below 3 feet ensure clarity, clearest from late fall to early spring during dry periods.
