Telford Spring is known for its clear, 72-degree water and a flow of about 20-30 million gallons per day. Set along the Suwannee River, its large basin—up to 50 feet deep with a cave system—offers a vibrant spot for swimming, snorkeling, and cave diving, surrounded by hardwoods and eroded banks. Accessible via SR 51 to a dirt road (no boat needed, free entry), it’s a 5-minute walk from parking. Summer weekends draw crowds—arrive by 8 AM. For quiet, visit weekdays in spring (April-May) or fall (September-October), mornings ideal. Pretty neat horizonal cave or tunnel you can swim through. Check for stable levels around 20 feet for a great experience. The available swimming/wading area is reduced significantly as levels drop below 20 feet.
