Set along the Suwannee River within Suwannee Springs Park, its basin—up to 15 feet deep—offers a quiet spot for swimming and kayaking, surrounded by cypress and hardwoods. Accessible via US 129 (no boat needed, free entry), it’s a short walk from parking. Summer weekends draw locals—arrive by 8 AM. For quiet, visit weekdays in spring (April-May) or fall (September-October), mornings ideal. Expecf a sulfer smell at the spring. Camping, boat ramp, etc. is in reference to the park rather then the spring. Water clarity is typically vivid but can cloud with Suwannee River backflow after rain. Check —look for stages at or below 42 ft (ideally 40–41 ft) for peak clarity, clearest from late fall to early spring during dry periods.
