Nutall Rise

The final and largest visible resurgence of the Aucilla River before the river continues toward the Gulf of Mexico. After flowing underground through the karst landscape for many miles, the Aucilla reemerges here as a broad, deep spring-fed pool and river reach near U.S. Highway 98 in Taylor County. The site is historically significant as a landmark and local gathering place, and it forms one end of the paddling corridor between the Aucilla and Wacissa rivers that is popular with canoeists, kayakers, and floating trips in the region.
