Florida spring
Northside Spring 1

Northside Spring 1 & Northside Spring 2 are a pair of freshwater spring vents located along Northside Slough just north of where it joins the Wakulla River within the Edward Ball Wakulla Springs State Park and surrounding river corridor in Wakulla County, Florida. Northside Spring 1 is the larger of the two, emerging from a deep limestone crevasse into a circular spring pool that spreads into surrounding wetlands, while Northside Spring 2 is a smaller adjacent vent forming a clear pool and contributing groundwater discharge that joins the flow from Northside Spring 1. Both springs discharge cool, clear groundwater from the Floridan aquifer into wetland channels that eventually feed into the Wakulla River, supporting aquatic habitat and the broader spring-fed river ecosystem near one of Florida’s most famous first-magnitude spring systems.
