Florida spring
Natural Bridge Creek Spring
Photo by: Florida SpringsThis spring emerges from the bank of Natural Bridge Creek a short distance downstream of the Natural Bridge sink–rise feature, near the next road crossing. The vent discharges clear groundwater from the Floridan Aquifer directly into the creek, creating a distinct patch of bright, sand-bottom water that contrasts with the darker tannic creek flow. The spring lies on publicly accessible waterway within the Natural Bridge area, though the surrounding upland is a mix of private and conservation lands. It can be reached by small boat or kayak from Spring Creek/Natural Bridge Creek. The shallow sandy bottom creek is ideal for wading. Check out the other springs in the area. The rock dam has been getting build and torn down likely for all of time. The water height measuring location is distant but may be the best choice in assessing clarity. Look for water levels at or below 6.5 feet.
