A freshwater karst spring vent forming a natural pool where groundwater from the Floridan aquifer discharges through an underwater cave or rock opening. The site is known locally for swimming and cave-diving access from a small wooden platform at the pool’s edge, with cool, clear water emerging from a limestone conduit typical of Florida’s spring systems. While not as developed or widely referenced as nearby Jackson Blue Spring, Hole in the Rock is part of the complex subterranean spring landscape around Merritt’s Mill Pond and adds to the region’s network of spring vents popular with divers and aquatic explorers.
