Turtle Nook Spring

A spring vent within the Silver Springs Group, located along the Silver River in Silver Springs State Park. Also referenced as Turtle Nook on select sampling maps (e.g. Raccoon Island area), it is a smaller lateral vent rather than one of the big first-magnitude springs. The spring is publicly accessible, via river paddling or park pathways, glass bottom boats, and the water in this section of the river is typically clear, supporting abundant turtles, fish, manatees, and submerged vegetation. Look for low stable water conditions with heights around 2 feet for the best chance at clarity. Clarity will improve as water height goes below 2 feet.
