Pumphouse Springs

One of the many vents in the Homosassa–Trotter–Pumphouse Spring Group that contribute groundwater to the headwaters of the Homosassa River, a first-magnitude spring system recognized as an Outstanding Florida Spring. The spring discharges clear water into a shallow cove just south of the main Homosassa Springs pool, and its flow mixes quickly with the Homosassa River rather than forming a large independent basin. It lies adjacent to the Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park spring group area, but the immediate shoreline around Pumphouse Spring is outside the park boundary and bordered by private property and water access.
