Known for its crystal-clear, 68-degree water and a flow of about 10-20 million gallons per day. Up to 15 feet deep, it offers a tranquil spot for kayaking and snorkeling, surrounded by cypress trees and pine forests. Accessible only by boat from Holmes Creek landings (e.g., Cotton Landing, 0.3 miles downstream), it’s on private land, so respect boundaries. Summer weekends draw paddlers—arrive early for calm. For quiet, visit weekdays in spring (April-May) or fall (September-October), mornings ideal. Jet Skis are prohibited on Holmes Creek in Washington County. Ord 97-12 Water clarity is typically vivid but can cloud with Holmes Creek backflow after rain. Check that Holmes Creek is stable, low levels below 11.4 feet ensure clarity, clearest from late fall to early spring during dry periods. The run is typically browned out at 12 feet.
